What are you trying to achieve?:
We are working on a Linguistics experiment that investigates the effects of short-term second language(L2) stimulation on phonetic drift in first language(L1) for Mandarin native speakers of English. In short, we will ask the participant to first look at and listen to several words. Immediately following them, a target word in red will show up on the screen and participant will read the word out loud as fast as possible. We want to analyze the acoustic property of recordings from the participant. We used the built-in sound and microphone modules available in psychopy builder. Our Github repository is here:

What specifically went wrong when you tried that?:
The program crashes at any possible random moment. We have no clue for the mechanism of the bug and we are wondering if anyone can assist us with pinpointing the bug. Thank you so much for your time.
