**What are you trying to achieve?:
I’m asking participants to give two different ratings using a slider. To make the distinction between the two scales clear, I want one that is horizontal and one that is vertical. With the horizontal slider, the labels are positioned exactly where you would expect them, right beside the tick (see scale 1 image) but when I change the orientation to vertical, the labels are placed quite far away from their associated tick (see scale 2 image). The set up of the sliders is identical except the x,y sizes are reversed. I should also say that the scales will be presented alongside other information, so it’s a bit confusing/limited screen space when the labels aren’t closely associated with the slider.
What did you try to make it work?: I’ve tried altering the size and position of the sliders but had no luck. I also tried to reproduce the slider from the demo (where the labels on the vertical slider “pos” are in the desired location, but even when I do this, the labels are offset from the slider itself.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
