Dynamically deblur a part of an image based on mouse location (a proxy for eyetracking)

Hi Psychopy,

I was wondering if there’s any way to implement an experiment that dynamically deblurs a part of an image based on mouse location. Similar to dynamic_selective_inspect demo, you use the mouse to control what part of an image you can see, but only this time the original image is masked with a blurred version of itself, not plain white image. So in effect, the experiment would reveal part of blurred image where the mouse is hovered. Any tips or idea?

@young1 !

Hi - it’s been a few years now since you posted this question - but I am looking to do exactly the same thing. Did you ever find an approach for this that worked?

I would love to hear if you did and how you managed it.

Thanks,

Dan.
