Color codes work in PsychoPy, not in Pavlovia

URL of experiment: https://pavlovia.org/cac284/7-color-synesthesia-battery

Description of the problem:

I have tried using RGB color codes on a 0,255 scale and on a -1,1 scale and also on a 0,1 scale (updating the color scale in Builder accordingly) and re-uploading each version to Pavlovia, but every time I get an error message about the color codes when I advance past the instruction slide. Here is a sample of the error message:

Unfortunately we encountered the following error:

  • when defining a color
  • unknown named color: [-1,-.21569,-1]

Try to run the experiment again. If the error persists, contact the experiment designer.

Hey Caleb,

I can’t access you experiment, I’m afraid. Could you tell how you tried to set the color exactly? Was it via JS? If so could you paste the script in a reply?

Best, Thomas

Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the reply. I set the colors in PsychoPy builder using a CSV with RGB color values, but this doesn’t seem to work in Pavlovia. Here is a doc with the script (it’s pretty long, but you should be able to search for the color code): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1sxPOUM915aGB5o6QLJQiZKqfHvhlqgtapf3caOVl81I/edit?usp=sharing

Best,
Caleb

Interesting issue. Could I get also get access to your repo? See these instructions: Unable to download resource

Just shared, thank you!

Hey again! I can’t see your code yet, but I think I know why. Added this to my manual, could you adjust my role?

  • To be sure that the member has access to your experiment code, give a member the “developer” or “maintainer” role.

Done, thank you!

Almost there! Should I examine 7_Battery.psyexp or 13_Battery.psyexp?

13_Battery.psyexp. Thanks!

Weird, I can’t get in anymore. Did notice something on your pavlovia page. It says “PsychoJS platform version 2020.1”. We’re now at version 2020.2.6; maybe exporting to the newest version already fixes it?
