Where is the NoiseStim component?

Hello,

I am trying to use white noise as a backward mask. I cannot find a noiseStim component in Psychopy 2023.1.2 any longer. I also cannot run my old experiments, in which I used this component. I don’t see any notice of depreciation. It seems that the code was moved to a package called “vision_science”, but even having installed the packages does not allow me to run the existing code, complaining that the component is not defined.

The package name is psychopy-visionscience, if you installed vision_science then that will be a different package altogether which is why it’s complaining.

In 2023.1.0 we added an interface to install plugins and packages from within PsychoPy and moved a few components out to plugins, if you go to Tools → Plugin/packages manager you can install psychopy-visionscience from the Packages tab :slight_smile:
