Two video simultaneously freeze

URL of experiment: Pavlovia

Description of the problem: I am trying to show two videos simultaneously. One of these videos should be selected by pressing the left or right key. Selecting one video makes the other disappear and a selection indicator appear around the target.

The idea is that particpants should select one of two faces to interact with, and that their selection is timed in a way that the face in the video “responds” with a gaze-shift to their selection. The selected face either averts their gaze or makes eye contact.

However, unfortunately, the videos seem to freeze almost every trial or don’t even start to begin with. I was wondering wether this might be due to the simultaneous playback of two movie stimuli? I tried pre-loading and also changed the codec to H264 and lowered the resolution and the bitrate. Every stimulus now is around 2.4MB. I have also tried all the four available backends of the movie stimulus. Unfortunately, nothing worked so far.

Is there any way I can make this work?

Really appreaciate your help and thank you so much in advance!
Best,
Julian

I think I fixed the problem. For anybody from the future encountering a similar problem: Including the Resource Manager in each loop before the videos where displayed and entering an ISI in the component in which the videos are shown seemed to work. However, I did not refresh my browser and deleted the cache, so these changes were not applied correctly. After including these components and deleting the cache, the videos ran smoothly.
