Textbox always appears with the last keypress in it

In my experiment, participants read a few sentences then recall the final word from each sentence by typing into the textbox. Participants also need to make meaningfulness judgement to each sentence by pressing ‘a’ or ‘k’. The issue I’m having is that when the textbox screen comes up, it’s not empty, it contains the last keypress response made by the participant, so either ‘a’ or ‘k’ would already be in the fresh textbox. How do I present an empty textbox?

This is also happening to me and I think it’s a bug of the latest update.

I installed the latest version 2020.2.10 and it solved the problem, I tried on both Windows and Mac. The 2020.2.4 version had this glitch.
