Syntax window in Coder does not show syntax

With my newest installation of PsychoPy, I have a problem with the Coder window.

It just does not show the code, instead it shows a grey rectangle. Here is a photo:

I am sure that I have opend the script. I can even run it. In scripts that have subroutines I can see their names on the left side.

I installed PsychoPy 2026.1.3 on a Windows 11 system.

I might add that I had our IT guy at my computer and we together deinstalled an installed again, with and without explicit adminstrator rights during installation (installation worked both ways).

This happens to me when I switch from 2026.1.3 to an older installation. I have to delete appData.cfg and then it works.

Synching with Pavlovia

The appData.cfg file can generally be found at: C:\Users\yourUserName\AppData\Roaming\psychopy3 I sometimes have an issue with PsychoPy not creating icons on my desktop so I edit a copy of an existing one. Here is what I have in mine: Target: "C:\Program Files\PsychoPy\pythonw.exe" "C:\Program Files\PsychoPy\Lib\site-packages\psychopy\app\psychopyApp.py" --builder Start in: "C:\Program Files\PsychoPy"
