**OS** : Win8.1
**PsychoPy version** (e.g. 2020.2.5):
\*\*Standard Standalone? yes
**What are you trying to achieve?:**

to open/start the Psychopy.

I had installed the 2.5 version a week before and it was working just fine until yesterday. It may have been accidentally shut down yesterday. Nothing else has changed.

**What did I try to make it work?:**

1. restarted the computer
2. uninstall psychopy 2.5 stand alone
and reinstalled latest version Psychopy 2.6 stand alone.
There was no error/glitch in the installation process. However, the problem persists.

**What specifically went wrong ?:**
No error message is seen. I went to task manager to see if the program is running in the background. However it is not running. When I double click on the shortcut, it gets highlighted but not opening.

Any suggestions to fix this issue would be grateful.

Thanks,
Amith
