# Problem when running the Iolab demo

Hi there,

I am using mac Sierra 10.12.6  
Psychopy 1.85.4  
and an ioLab system buttonbox connected via usb.

When I am trying to run the Iolab demo I get this:

“##### Running: /Applications/PsychoPy2.app/Contents/Resources/lib/python2.7/psychopy/demos/coder/hardware/ioLab\_bbox.py #####  
2018-01-11 17:36:26.740 python[29972:4514244] ApplePersistenceIgnoreState: Existing state will not be touched. New state will be written to /var/folders/vm/63xfs0l907qgy683ry11ynjw0000gn/T/org.psychopy.PsychoPy2.savedState  
” and a window that pops up with the following text “PsychoPy2 quit unexpectedly.” With the 3 following choices : Ignore, Report, Reopen.

What I have already tried to solve this problem:  
-Add the path of the Iolab library in psychopy using the preferences option mentioned here [http://www.psychopy.org/recipes/addCustomModules.html](http://www.psychopy.org/recipes/addCustomModules.html)

-Upgrade to the latest version of psychopy

None of those two options worked for me.

Could someone please help me out?

I still did not find any solution, can someone please help me?

Don’t know if this is still something you want to solve, but I can get the ioLab demo to work if I use psychopy 1.82.01 (before things went 64 bit). There may be features missing or old bugs in that version that make it not a solution for you…
