Manipulate the color of individual pixels online

Would anyone have a recommended strategy to manipulate the color of individual pixels in an online study? I am finding that it is not possible to have careful control of the color of each pixel individually with image stimuli (due to an automatically applied linear interpolation, which seems impossible to turn off). I had the idea of using the polygon feature and defining multiple rectangular polygons of size 1x1 pixel, but that seems awfully inefficient given that I’d like to have control of an area composed of ~250x250 pixels.

I would appreciate any input/suggestions!

Do you need control of the whole area or could you put 1x1 pixel polygons in front of larger ones?

Thanks for the response, @wakecarter! I have found a solution to the interpolation issue, which I described here so I will use image stimuli
