Levenshtein distance for participant responses

I have a general question about whether or not something is possible to do in psychopy.

I have participants typing in an answer, which I then match to the correct answer in an excel file to give them feedback in whether they are correct or not. I was wondering if anyone had any Levenshtein distance code so that if the first three letters that the participants type in match the correct answer in the excel file, it will give them the correct feedback. Is this even possible?

I have seen a lot of different codes for Levenshtein distance, but I’m not really understanding how to implement them. If someone could explain it to me that would be wonderful.
