# Can't open psychopy 3.0.5 after normal use on MacOsSierra

Hello everyone,  
I have been using psychopy in the last weeks without troubles, now the app doesn’t start and I can’t figure out why. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again, but the error message stays the same.  
Hope I explained my problem well. I appreciate any help a lot!

OS Sierra 10.12.6  
PsychoPy version 3.0.5  
Standard Standalone Version  
\*\*What are you trying to achieve?:  
-opening the app  
-finding folders userPrefs.cfg and appData.cfg

**What did you try to make it work?:**

- uninstall it, download and install same version again
- tried cleaning app preferences and app data (from troubleshooting advice) but could not find folders userPrefs.cfg and appData.cfg  
 → in Terminal it says _no module named psychopy_ after entering:  
python -c “from psychopy import prefs; print(prefs.paths[‘userPrefsDir’])”
