Hi!
I am running a few different basic experiments using the coder view on a mac. We are presenting stimuli in a basic loop that includes the presentation of a number (text) and a sound (wav files) for each iteration.
When the audio plays it glitches out and sounds like it is broken/stuck on repeating certain parts of the file (sort of like “wubwubwubwub” very weird). I am getting the error :
||PaMacCore (AUHAL)|| Error on line 520: err=‘‘what’’, msg=Unspecified Audio Hardware Error
In some past threads I saw this was a specific issue with mac permissions that was apparently resolved, but I am still having this issue…
I have tried fixing this by:
- making sure everything is updated (most recent versions) / restarting everything on my comp.
- specifying either “pyo” or “sounddevice” to autoLib (neither fix the issue & I have both installed)
- making sure Im playing sounds and drawing text before calling win.flip()
- checking that my output device is correct… etc
I am pretty sure this is not a code problem because it works fine on other devices, but I would love if I could get it working on my on computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
My specs:
Mac OS: Ventura 13.4.1 (c)
PsychoPy Version: v2023.1.2
